The Living Classroom

We designed some plans for our living classroom down by the stream. We would like to have a bridge or stepping stones to cross the stream without getting our feet wet. Also we would like trees for shade with a space for reading. Some people wanted a fale to rest in. We would like to see some New Zealand trees for birds to visit like a kowhai tree. We think a wall of flags would be good showing all the countries represented in our school. Here is a video showing our plans.

Calendar Art

We made Samoan patterns for our calendars. Then we used pastels - we tried to use colours that went together. Then we dyed carefully around our work. In the middle we put our mihi over a faint picture of ourselves. Here we are hard at work. Look at the concentration! Thanks to Jakobe and Evile for putting the slideshow together.

Plans of our classroom

We are looking at plans of our classroom. Here we are using Paint on the computer to create a plan before we get new furniture. We think they look very good.

Diversity Day

On Friday we celebrated Diversity Day. First we prepared for the day making flags and headbands in the colours of our countries. Then we joined the whole school for a parade. It was like being at the opening of the Olympic Games!

After the parade we had a shared meal - well is was more like a feast really and we got to try lots of different food. It was a great day and we all had a lot of fun.
